CNY 2009 Hanoi Trip

Gather at LCCT Mc Donalds at 2pm sharp to meet up with our tour leader Xiao Wen. Our tour friends consist of 2 families, one with a child, and another one with 3 children. So all together, 16pax including us plus a tour leader.

Reached Hanoi around 7pm local time ( it’s an hour’s slower than us in Malaysia) and the captain informed us it’s 12degress out there. Phew… buckle up our sweater and jacket and off we head to our hotel for that night. I’ve been to Hanoi err… maybe 9 or 10 years ago. Cannot remember anything about it, and it’s not even shown in my current passport. Don’t have much memories about it back trip, but I remembered the bay view is beautiful. That time I went was summer, and this time… it’s end of winter. It’s nice to come over here in this cool…. A little too chilly for me though….don’t really favor cold weather. At the hotel lobby while waiting for our room key.

The next day, we took a 3 hours journey to San Gu Bi Dong to visit the southern first hole. We reached there around 11.30am and took a small boat.

One boat accommodate 2 person only. The boat row continuously for like one hour (to and fro). The weather is like 11degrees with winds breezing flying off our scarf and Vietnam hats. There’s no turning back and no stop halfway. One route in , same route out. It’s like a cave with a big hole underneath for us (the boat) to row pass in it. We passed 3 holes and back the same route, back to pier. At first, the boat rower ( a couple) chat with us in broken mandarin. Everything seems fine at first, until somewhere in the middle, they started to take out many things from an unseen box. She took out a photo of her family, explaining to us her old parents, her childrens and her…. Siblings I guess. Telling us how poor are they, they stitch those clothes and so on. They have the Vietnam souveniors, clothings, frames, drawings and stitches. The woman kept persuading us to buy. It’s like if we don’t buy from them, they are not going to row the boat back to the pier. So my mum cincai buy a stitch from her. Again, she kept on push my mum to buy. I told my mum not to bother her, just don’t answer her, and tell her she doesn’t have money in her bag. She did not persuade me, because my face already very black already. This tactic really works lor. Amway and Elken agent ar… this tactic really works lor. next time you want to sell your products, bring your family photo along. People cincai also will buy something from you.

Suddenly, she took out a RM3 to exchange USD1 with my mum. I told my mum, my USD is RM3.8 (touching my mum’s bag,she quickly give her money!). What for change with her, change with her is big stupid lor. Then the woman tried to take the money out from my mum’s bag. My mum wave white flag… quickly pass a USD1 to her. See.. like this also can.

After that, had a Vietnamese style lunch near that area. Board our bus and off we head towards Halong Bay – a 2 ½ hours journey.

Nothing much to see at nite in Halong Bay. Maybe it’s due to the CNY seasons. Everyone just stayed at home therefore everywhere seems dark and desserted. Back to our hotel at Halong Bay. Around the hotel also nothing to see, no restaurant, no shopping centres, no entertainment and nothing. Back to the bed and sleep.

Third day, our outing to the sea. We board on a ship and head towards the beautiful Halong Bay view. The scenery was marvelous and beautifully sculpted with fantastic shapely mountains and rocks, and of course cave.

A scene like little Guilin China. According to them, those so called *Guilin Rocks* actually first belongs to Hanoi but somehow it came to be of the Chinese government. We first reached a hill top with a temple at the hilltop.

Can’t remember the name but it was somehow an eye opener as a temple in the middle of the sea’s island.

Then, we board the ship again and head towards 天堂岛。Yeah.. indeed the name itself already looks so beautiful and must look like heaven. But I tell you la… to see heaven, you must pass hell. You need to climb like 400plus steps ( I restate here ; the steps were uneven and some is ridiculously big and steep). High up there is 亭where you can view the whole Halong Bay. It’s really beautiful up there… but you won’t be looking at the scenery once you are up there. You’ll be buzy panting and sitting on the floor, breathing quickly and your hearts pumping non-stop. For the 1st five minutes, we didn’t have mood to even see the scenery from the top. We were just sitting down, taking our clothes off, and panting hastily and wiping our sweat. Felt a bit dizzy because maybe suddenly the blood isn’t pumping fast enough, and felt like sugar level is low. Luckily my brother bought his bag together and opened up, got Oreo, Smarties, Sweets, Potato Chips and Mentos. We had a short party up there. No one even cares about the scenery anymore. Hahaha… Until the tour guide remind us, it’s almost time for us to descend. Then only we realize we haven’t taken any photo yet. Quickly we snapped a few photos and just when we started to breathe normally; it’s time for us to descend.

During our going down the steps period, many other tourist from Korean or Japanese all also climb the steps. The girls look so happy walking upwards… cause they just started not even 10%. Some pretty ladies clutching LV bag and wearing Burberry scarft were happily chatting while walking and in my heart I thinking… “Wait till you go until halfway. I see that time you clutch your bag or you need people to clutch you up! Hahaha… have a nice time up there you ladies!!” That time I was few steps to the ground. Hehehe….

We then stop at a fishery area. To add to our lunch.

Board our ship for lunch and you know what, my sis went to the toilet and saw the way the ship people cook our lunch, she say its crazy. The water in the bucket needs to wash the veggies, meats, and even used to wash the knife. Sotong also didn’t wash completely and just dump them into the bowl. Non of us wanna pass the cooking area, afraid we don’t dare take our lunch. But once the lunch is served, we just grab gallop every food. We don’t care anymore about the cleanliness. After the tiring climb, we don’t care much. We only know the stomach very hungry already. Had a good seafood lunch on board and off we head to shore. Back to our hotel. As the tour guide told us, there is a market near our hotel, we gather together in the lobby and walked to the 1-2km far market. Reached that place only did we know that it was closed for holiday. Everyone face became black and the tour guide kept saying he also not really know market also got holiday one. But okay la, we got some fruits there, one of the shop open, selling fruits. The hotel there really got nothing else liow. Bought ice-cream on our way back hotel. Wanted to wash hair, but no hair salon ; I mean, there is many hair salon but non was open that time. End our day with a dinner and early sleep.

Our second last day, head back to Hanoi city 180km from Halong Bay. Stopped by a Pottery and Jewellery Shop for rest and relax. Reached Hanoi city at 12noon and had a Chinese lunch there. 1.30pm we head to the 36 ancient road.

We took the 三轮车round the 36 Ancient Road, but besides closed shops, we only see closed shop. Too bad. Many shops around, but all closed. Only a few beer shops opened, and packed with guai lou.

My father eating the 毛鸭蛋. It's said to be a nutritious food in Hanoi. It's actually the embryo of a duckling!!

Meet at the designated area at 5.45pm to watch the Water Puppet show. The one hour’s show was something everyone go to Vietnam has to see. It’s their thing you know. Those people performing have to stay in the water for one full hour to play the puppet. Doze off a little around the end. The musics sounds so peaceful and the percussion just make my eyes smaller and smaller…..zzzz

Our last night’s stay at Hanoi this trip, was also at an area where no shops opens at night. Again as usual, early to bed.

The last day, our itinerary was as follows.
Ho Chi Minh’s Virtue
Ho Chi Minh’s Parlimen
Ho Chi Minh’s Museum
1000 Years University
One Pillar Temple
The Thousand Year Uni

Inside of Ho Chi Minh's Museum

Well.. nothing much to say about these places. Just some history places in your itinerary which you need to go in order to represent you have been to Hanoi. Just browse the photos is all I have to say.

After these visits, we crawl to the airport. I used the word crawl because we were an hour too early to the airport, so we crawl there.
Waited at airport 3 hours earlier than our flight. The tour guide dumped us in the airport so early, everyone just sit down at the chair and fat mou there.

Had our dinner at the airport and off we took AirAsia back to LCCT.

Studio Photo at Romantic Bridal House

Romantic Bridal House – Studio Photo

Wedding gown fitting at Romantic Bridal for our Studio photos yesterday. Me, Hong Hong and XVee. The other day at One Utama, we passed by the wedding fair at the concourse and saw this eye-catching photos from Romantic Bridal. Hence, we sat down and talked a little bout the wedding packages (as Hong Hong is gonna be married someday end of the year).

We happily talked about the packages, until suddenly XVee blurp out that she wanted all three of us to take studio photos. We did it like 10 years ago, and now she wants to do it again. According to the salesgirl, Kim, we are able to wear any gown available at Romantic Bridal except those new gowns. Moreover, it’s said to be digitally printed with wordings and artwork during the fair.We told them "Yeah, your package is very attractive and not bad and we 3 are interested. But we will only sign-up this promotional package after we go to your studio and check out the gowns!!" As usual they said, "Can, but the promotion is only for today/the fair (blah blah)". We simply knod out heads and off we go pay for the deposit.

Yesterday, our visit to Romantic Bridal disappoints us. We were unable to get agreement because it seems suddenly like everything is different from what’s said in the fair. Grace was the sales person attended to us ..she ain't that friendly, but i don't blame her at first, cause maybe it’s late at night and she might be already very tired to serve another 3 customers. We went through the invoice one more time before we proceeded with the gown fitting. Here comes the argument about photos qualities and pricing and photo size. Everything said is different from said at the fair. Nope.. they have nothing wrong, it’s our mistake. We SHOULD have written every detail they spoke to us at the fair. And make them sign black and white in front of us. One word for brides signing packages from Romantic, details to be written on paper to ensure no argument and disappointment later on.

Next, we move on to choose our gown and theme. Themed photos do not need to choose gown as they are fixed already. We have 4 designs all together. I took one theme ‘Crystal’ and three other gowns to be choose separately. All those that we are allowed to try are so old and yellowish, and so not nice. There is nothing for us to choose as there is only 2 cupboards. Then we mingle around the VIP area, and they told us that those gowns are new, and need to add money if we intend to wear them.

After a few trying we still can't choose even one which we really like. As per them, those more beautiful gowns are all new and no one wears them before. Those gowns cost extra RM300-500. We refuse to pay for the extra; they said fine and served us with really lousy black face. The salesgirl did not look too friendly when we asked to try out more dresses and she wasn't too "service-oriented" either.

I was rather paranoid that the whole process is a disappointing one, but ended up, it's good fun, especially when you have your chi mui’s around. Having 3 girls and 2 assistant in a changing room, it’s packed and fun!

I think for all the future brides out there who plan to sign up for Romantic Bridal House, you just need to have a clear mind of what you really want to have at the end of day. Of coz, there are some unexpected "surprises", but so long as it sticks to your budget, then it's fine.

I still continue to pray for a smooth and blissful process with them till the day we collect our photo albums.

Love Is In The Air ~ ~

Thanks to Hong Hong, I celebrated the Valentine’s day with her together with her BF. Ya ya… I know… I know I’m a big big bulb la… but Hong Hong kept insist that I follow her for dinner that nite lor. Not people purposely want be bulb one la..
Waited at her house at 6pm. Mingle around the house, then, digged out rummy to play. We played two-leg rummy. You don’t know how to play leh. Come come.. I teach you all. One player conquer two sets of rummy. So, each person has to switch 2 places. We played switch here switch there lor. Like this become two-leg rummy liow lor! Fun to play, somemore can train your speed. Hehehe…
We actually don’t want to be so wuliao one lor.. all because Hong Hong’s bf la.. Kelvin. He was an hour later than the planned time. As usual, men’s reasons are traffic jam… and… traffic jam lor! Inside the car, he terus kena shoot by both of us.

At first, we planned to go Korean BBQ Pork, but the queue was so long, hence we jumped to Fish Shop. Good place… cause no need to queue ma…

Their menu for that night was…..
New York FIsh and Chips

Fish and Chips.
Notice the difference.... THE FLAG only!!!

You can either choose one couple or two couple ONLY. Three person… how?? After all the discussion and arguments, we finally end up with 2 couple ( 4 pax dinner). 3 pax ordering 4 pax food equals to WASTE OF FOOD lor~ Already we have extra food on the table, and then only did Kelvin told us that actually he already had quite a heavy dinner before he fetched us! See… wtf….
Hong Hong gave a brand new Sony Ericson HP to Kelvin. Kelvin so happy; ask him pose for photo also kong kong liow~
After our dinner, we shop around and jalan- jalan. Pass by Speedy and got ourselves our favourite singer album. Hong Hong – her Jacky Cheung concert CD and my RICHIE REN Love and Beloved DVD!! Wow… fantastic memories of the concert again tumbled into my head. My 小齐so man during the concert you know. Miss the concert last year? Don’t worry…. Get into your car, go to the nearest CD shop, don’t go to pasar malam you know. Grab the Richie Ren Love and Beloved DVD home…. It’s a value of money… only RM29.90. Don’t wanna waste your money… come over to my house, we watched together. Hehehe~

Get back to Hong Hong’s home at around … er.. Opss…I don’t remember the time.
Little Boy Boy~
We started to play rummy again – this time with Kelvin and Hong Hong’s brother. Middle of our game, suddenly Kelvin invited his cousin to yumcha at Station One. Get off the chair and off we head to Station One. Wah~ there got many people lor… full. Luckily got place to sit, no need to wait. Had a drink there and talk grandfather stories. I said grandfather stories because it was Kelvin’s cousin – Eddie talking those grandfather stories. Hahaha.. shouldn’t have wrote bad things about people here. Moreover this is only the first time we met each other. :P

That’s how I end my Valentine’s Day on Saturday.

The Wedding Game

Just back from watching the movie ” The Wedding Game” with Hong Hong and her bf. I was a little late and missed a couple of minutes, but came into the cinema just in time to see Jack’s in the bathroom scene~

I was having dinner with Weifen and her 2 colleagues ( Ah Dee and Jerry) at Bukit Tinggi Aeon earlier. We had Japanese food and the food was great. After my dinner, I rushed back to BBK Jusco for the movie. Was late and wouldn’t want my two friends to wait for me outside the cinema (cause they bought the tickets earlier), I told them to leave my ticket to the Baskin Robin counter. Thanks to the thin skinny man whom had helped me keep the ticket. If you saw a silly girl running from the carpark towards the escalator that day, don’t worry… you didn’t see wrong person, it’s me!

The movie certainly is entertaining and would recommend you all. I’ll rate it 4/5.
Several parts made me literally, LAUGH OUT LOUD. I remember a scene where Jack bump into Fann inside the toilet. He claimed that Fann’s shit is so smelly, and just couldn’t believe a pretty girl can shit out shits so smelly!! HaHahaha~Just couldn’t stop laughing in the cinema.
Brief storyline, Jack (Chistopher) and Vicki (Fann) were trying to pretend to be couple in order to get fame and money. They can then divide the money into two, where Vicki needed the money to help her dad paying the debts. However, their plan failed but they found their passion for each other later on. From hate to love. The Story line is nothing to our surprise but it sure sparks a lot of fun and laughter between this two couple in real life.

This is a song from The Wedding Game I found from Youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Io1SxgHQ8A

Actually, there is another song that I also like. It was sung out during the scene when Jack was heartbroken and desperately looking for Vikki after the press conference where Vikki revealed the truth to the media and the public. Anyone knows the title of the song?

Overall, a great movie to watch~

Had a sumptuous lunch with my colleagues and bosses.

Back to work at around 2.30pm. 我们继续摇摇摆摆, 车车大炮, 说说笑笑,然后 em ging em kok, the clock shows 5pm liow. Go back time~ Yeepie~

初九 – So difficult to wake up. Yesterday kept ping ping piang piang. Cannot sleep well also. Most of my colleagues all did not come to work today. The whole office sibeh quiet today…. No sound at all. Just a few people only. You look me… I look you. One word “ SIEN”. And now, sitting here in the storeroom and be a temporary store keeper. My colleague Ms. Khu did not come and now I’m in her place. Sitting here is worse, no people and nothing to do ( I dare not touch other people’s stuff la). Whole day sit down and look at those toolings, bolts and nuts. Felt so sleepy somemore. One find one person to chat with also don’t have. Somemore no PC, no internet connection here… nothing. Just barely sitting down here waiting for people to come and take the tools and hardware.

Gong Xi Fa Chai lo~

Happy Chinese New Year…. Gong Xi Fa Chai ~ ~ Yo Yo Yo….

Look at those delicious big prawns… so yummy and delicious… fresh and juicy~
In order to not waste the big prawns (in case it goes bad the first time), I had already tried one week before, by using small and tiny prawns from Carrefour. Although my first attempt with small prawns doesn’t come out with crispy nestum, but on the 团圆饭day, it just turn out to be so good!

The second dish好事发大财… aiya… you look at the photos yourself la…. I’m just so proud of myself – look so presentable… and it taste good you know!
Eh… this photo really I cook one lor.. not I take photo from Imperial Restaurant one lor!!! Hehehehe~

Next, my Hanoi trip during the CNY. This will be on my next blog very soon. Wait till I 整理整理我的CNY mood先, then I will post it out.

Came back from Hanoi late at nite during 初四。 The next morning, cannot stand my dropping and messy eyelashes, went and ask help from XinVee. I did my eyelashes before I flew to Hanoi. Luckily, XVee will be at the shop around 10.30am. Went over to her shop, meet up with her and while waiting, chit chat with her customers and watched her working. Looking at XVee’s working, is an enjoyable thing. The way she works professionally, the way she treat her customers so friendly, the way she interact with her customers and her seriousness and patience in her work. So warm yet so professional.

Met with Hong Hong there too. She also went there to do her eyelashes. She looked fabulous with her new eyelashes. While doing our eyelashes there, we dose off talking about future. Hong Hong said she wants to learn nail art and eyelashes wor. And then, asked me to join them….I’m not skillful to do these art art thingie la… so I shook my head. Then… came another idea to ask me invest pulak! Then, more and more nonsense liow… then they wanted the whole building to be a beauty building… downstairs is for selling beautiful clothes, upstairs is for make up and nail art parlor and so on……
Three girls get together… what funny thing also can think out de lor!

Then at nite, we went over to XVee’s house to 拜年。As usual, talked about grandmother and grandfather stories. Chat about Hong Hong and Lean’s wedding plans at the end of the year. Later, off we go to the mahjong table and Rummy.Had a great nite there.

初六- went to Pavillion with Hong Hong, XVee, Mian and Winnie to 血拼. Err…. Don’t misunderstand lor…. is they all血拼lo…. Not me lor…!! Hehehe. Had our dinner at Ichiban Restaurant and bought cosmetics from M.A.C…. and then off we go and have our Hokkaido Gelato Ice-cream at MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee.
Don’t ask me what I ate. I ordered a Red Bean Soup with Japanese 汤圆(as highly recommended by the chef….. on the menu), and it just taste nothing more than what my mum cooks. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying I ordered a “super-normal-nothing-special” dessert lor. Plus it's toooo sweet ler. Macha Zen...Hokkaido red beans (just assuming the beans from Hokkaido) with Green Tea Japanese Gelato Ice Cream and Japanese Dumpling...

Hong Hong ordered a mango ice-cream with jelly and it not only look good but taste good too.
We took photos there, but it’s with Hong Hong. Want her to send me the photos???
。 是XVee’s little baby – Beverley! Ya… we took a 3 months old baby to Pavillion and her one cry can make the whole Pavillion shake lor! Hehehe… bringing a baby to shopping centre really takes lots of patience and…. and more patience lor! Pushing the baby cart is easy while she’s asleep, but when she’s awake… she only wants to 抱抱。No wonder got this song la “世上只有妈妈好~ ~”

初七- Last Sunday, we sat at home and waited for our relatives from KL to come over to our house. They all came around noon and my house so 热闹 that day. We only had this kind of gathering once in a year. Mingled and gambled until dinner time and had our dinner at Mun Siang Lo Restaurant at Klang Parade. That was my first 捞生in the Cow Year. We shouted when we lou sang, and toss yum seng like it’s a wedding dinner like that!
Hahaha… a bunch of crazy people. One pax very quiet, two person start to got noise out liow, three person start to crazy liow… and four person is DISCO already!!
Yeah~ Big Family~

A bunch of Yum Seng kiddies~ Hehehe
My cousin and cousin's daughter & son.
A bunch of leng luis~
